pcX is pleased to announce that we have been able to finally source "factory new" Philips CDM-12.4 mechanisms (which include the laser pick-up) !
 
These components are the "essential" parts when repairing 2/3's of all "mechanism-related" problems in both the Sonic Frontiers SFCD-1 CD Player and SFT-1 Transport.  As well, this same 12.4 mechanism was used a variety of other CP Player/Transport models from other high-end manufacturers (ie. Classe), in the mid 1990's until early 2000.
 
Typical problems are:
 
- Skipping,
- Random Muting
- NO DISC error messages,
- and inability to find the selected track (mechanism constantly hunts for it, but never finds).

    


   


While we cannot guarantee that we can fix 100% of these units (some problems are related to the "custom-designed SERVO decoding board - by UltraAnalog (who is no longer in business)), early results suggest that we can fix about 2/3's of all problems.

When you now couple pcX's ability to provide long-term support for these unit's mechanisms, along with our performance enhancing SPECIAL EDITION PLUS and MASTER CLOCK mods (for both models), customers should now be comforted in knowing that there is a performance growth path for both models....giving them both new life, and on-going "reference caliber" performance (equal to anything manufactured today) for years to come !
