Cleaner Power
The original Burson Regulator was introduced back in 2003 as one of the key components of the 100 series. It contains some of the most desirable qualities, namely low noise, quick transient response, and fast recovery. These are qualities missing from any standard IC base regulator.
In 2008, after five years of ongoing research and development, the next generation of Burson regulator was created. The new regulator has considerable enhancements when compared to its predecessor, enabling it to have even greater noise reduction and higher output. With the new improvements, we’re assured of another instant classic.

More Power
Experienced audiophiles will understand the importance of a high performance power transformer. However, audio graded transformers are not cheap and difficult to obtain. Our new transformer has been custom built to our specifications. Our 380W transformer has less than 3.5W core loss, outperforming most standard transformers on the market.
Equipped with our new transformer, the PI-160 operates with higher efficiency. It runs cooler even during Melbourne’s 45 degree days, and has a better transient response during those dramatic passages that demand so much power. |

Benchmark setting construction
The new case is constructed from high precision machined aluminium and reinforced by laser trimmed stainless steel connectors. This allows the P160 series amplifier to achieve a very high mechanical damping factor; impossible from inferior constructions. With this case, there is no need to spend money with add-ons (Voodoo feets), that may or may not improve stability. At 6mm thick, the new enclosure also reduces any microphonic effects that may degrade the clarity of sonic performance, enabling you to enjoy its optimal performance for decades to come. |

It took nearly 6 months to pull the PI-100 apart and rebuild it piece by piece into the PI-160.
The end result was simply greater quality sounding music – more control, more detail, more power, and most importantly more emotion.
It was like listening to Nancy Wilson’s if I Had My Way for the first time. You know it is still her, but 14 years better. Every aspect of her performance has been changed, improved and vintaged. The bottom became deeper and matured. The top became inexplicably more beautiful and the emotional exchanges became even more intense.
