IMPROVMENTS

Better Sound
Started in 1997, the original Burson Opamp was developed as a DIY tweak project to improve the output stage of any commercial CD player. It was introduced as a commercial upgrade module in 2005. Since then, the Burson Opamp has been successfully implemented into entry level CD players and commercial recording studios alike. The original Burson Opamp is recognised as the best audio opamp on the market.
Three years on, through our own growth, the invaluable feedback from industrial partners, and the forging of partnerships with world leading component manufacturers, we have raised the bar once again. The new Burson opamp is more stable, more refined and most importantly, better performing.
The new Burson opamp technology is now implemented into our P160 series of amplifiers. |

Cleaner Power
The original Burson Regulator was introduced back in 2003 as one of the key component of the 100 series. It processed some of the most desirable quality: low noise, quick transient responds, fast recovery and etc. These are qualities you won’t find in your standard IC base regulator.
In 2009 as the result of our ongoing research and development a new design of Burson regulator is now released. Our new regulator has further improved on its predecessor with even better noise rejection and higher output which make it another instant classic! |

More Power
Experienced audiophiles will understand the importance of a high performance power transformer. However, audio graded transformers are not cheap and difficult to obtain. Our new transformer is custom built to our specifications. Our 380W transformer has less than 3.5W core loss. It outperforms most standard transformers on the market.
Equipped with our new transformer, the PI-160 operates with higher efficiency. It runs cooler, and has a better transient response during those dramatic passages that demand so much power. |

Tougher & better feel
The new 6mm case is constructed from high precision machined aluminium and reinforced by laser trimmed stainless connector. This allows the P160 series amplifier to achieve a very high mechanical damping factor that is impossible for lesser type of construction. So, you don’t need to spend your money on those voodoo feet that may or may not work for you.
Our new enclosure reduced any microphone effective that may degrade the clarity of sonic performance. As an added bonus you can now also enjoy jewelled like refinement for years to come. |

SONIC PERFORMANCE COMPARED TO THE PRE-100
The PRE-160 strikes a new balance between musicality and precision. Like a maestro, it has every vibration under perfect control, but like a jazz pianist, it allows emotion to flow freely between each key. The sound stage is darker, the musicians are more solid and the experience is more intense.
Darken the audition room, and listen to Tony Bennet’s “A Swingin’ Christmas” and suddenly, Tony and his gang are all there! Even those one or two self proclaimed grinchs at Burson Audio have fully succumbed to the Christmas cheer and are toe taping involuntarily. Long after listening to Tony’s “I left my heart in San Francisco”, hearts were still riding on those little cable cars that climb halfway to the stars.
We have no doubt, the PRE-160 will continue to connect you with music for years to come, reflecting our passion and love of music. But now, you can also show off to your friends, its diamond like refinement.
