AN IMPORTANT NOTE TO OUR VALUED CANADIAN CUSTOMERS!
While pcX is located in Canada, and has both a significant and loyal Canadian base of customers, we have been fortunate enough to enjoy substantial success in the broader international audio DIY marketplace. In fact, over 80% of our sales are made to customers outside of Canada. These customers are familiar with the value of the US$....but not the CDN$ (a simple fact of life). Moreover, the vast majority of our goods are either sourced from the US, or from countries in which the dominant currency of trade is US$. As well, most of our products have an established US$ retail list price (MSRP) determined by the manufacturer...thus, displaying our prices in US$ makes it easier for "all" our customers to make the appropriate price comparisons with our competitors......especially in the age of the internet, with it's instant information.

It is for these reasons that we have decided to express our prices in US$....on both our website, and upcoming print catalog.

However, Canadians do not pay in US$...we convert all sales (including shipping charges and applicable taxes) for Canadian customers into CDN$, on the day of shipment, at that day's daily exchange rate...not, the horrible rate the credit card companies provide. Thus, Canadian customers are not penalized for doing business with pcX, as a result of our currency policy..

In fact, this method is ultimately better for our CDN customers...as we do not have to establish an arbitrary (and cushioned) exchange rate price, which protects us against any rapid de-valuation in the CDN $'s value (which most CDN distributors do)....which inevitably makes products "relatively" more expensive to Canadians, versus those sold by US-based suppliers, to US customers.

Ultimately, we hope to provide CDN customers with some method of doing the currency conversion on our website, on a product-by-product basis, so they can see the CDN$ equivalent price, one line item at a time. However, that will not happen until we completed our "online/shopping cart" system, later in 2005...or early 2006.
