ABBRES Audio Remote Control System 

pcX is now stocking this elegant solution for hobbyists who desire remote control input selection and volume control (via motorized ALPS pot - sold separately) functionality with their DIY build projects.

The Audio Remote Control System (ABBRES) is made up of two "fully assembled and tested" electronic pc boards, an infrared remote control handset, a back lit LCD display and a IR sensor diode to receive signals from remote unit.

The first of the two boards, called the INPUT BOARD, handles audio input selection (up to 6 inputs). The second board, called the MAIN BOARD, handles the INPUT BOARD, motorized potentiometer, infrared IR diode, LCD display unit and a relay to switch on/off external preamplifier or power amplifier. Each system is equipped with "labeled" screw terminal blocks to simplify connectivity. Lastly, each kit comes complete with an 8 page installation and assembly manual.

FURUTECH Inlet Plate Promotion  

pcX is please to offer, a free AC Inlet Plate, with the purchase of a Furutech INLET and/or FI-10 IEC male chassis connector.

This plate fits both the AC FI-10 and the AC INLET. This plate was made for the AC Inlet so the fit is perfect, however, it can also fit the FI-10 but more of a press fit. We can say that this Press-Fit was designed for reasons of resonance and damping control.

The plate is made of 3.0mm (0.120”) thick Aluminum with Brushed Black Anodizing finish.

pcX has recently received delivery of the custom tube tester we had commissioned to be built for the 6C33C-B Russian power triode tube. Using this tester (4 tubes at a time):

• we burn-in all stock for 24 hours at real-world operating parameters - both voltage and current
• we provide the Vb (Bias voltage) and Gm (Trans conductance) of each tube at 250ma Ip (plate current)

These are the New-Old-Stock premium grade version (super tube) of the Sovtek 6H30-Pi (aka. 6H30n-eb)...a tube extensively used now by several high-end audio brands including BAT, ARC, C-J, etc..

From Bill Perkins of Perkins Electro-Acoustic Research Laboratory!   pcX now has back in stock, the "full range" of "new" updated PEARL TUBE COOLERS - without a doubt, one of the most useful accessories in tube audio.  

Use of these devices result in reduced tube microphony for noticeably improved sonics; and longer tube life (conservatively triple) due to the cooler "heatsinking" the heat away from the glass enveloped, via the thermally conductive copper-finned cooler material.

NOTE: PEARL has converted (since October 2005) cooler manufacturing over to a new fin design, which provides over 60% more contact area with the tube's glass bulb/envelope. As a result, the previously supplied carbon fibre sleeve is no longer required for the cooler to work, as intended.
