In 1957 Marconi-Osram Valve Co. (Genalex) introduced the "King of Power Tubes", the legendary Gold Lion KT88. This tube became the heart and soul of such classics as the Dynaco Mark III, McIntosh MC275, and Marshall Major. Unfortunately, Genalex ceased tube production in the early 1980s and the original Genalex Gold Lion KT88 has become very expensive and hard to find.

But finally the new reissue of that venerable Gold Lion KT-88 vacuum tube is here. This tube has not just been reengineered, it has been reverse engineered! The original KT-88 has been disassembled, studied, with every possible nuance evaluated to make the new version the best KT-88 ever produced. The tubes are now available in “matched” pairs. This is the FURUTECH Contact Enhancer...it's called Nano Liquid.

FURUTECH Nano Liquid Contact Enhancer....consists of super-micro particles made up of two primary materials, Pure Gold and Pure Silver by mean of Nano-Meter Technology. Each particle diameter is 8 Nm (0.000008 mm) in size. These super-micro particles are individually separated by mixing a controlled amount of cluster type Squalene Oil. The extreme small size of these Nano Liquid particles allows it to diffuse and weld into very tiny seams of the material’s crystalline structure. From Bill Perkins of Perkins Electro-Acoustic Research Laboratory!   pcX now has in stock, "new" updated PEARL TUBE COOLERS - without a doubt, one of the most useful accessories in tube audio. 

Use of these devices result in reduced tube microphony for noticeably improved sonics; and longer tube life (conservatively triple) due to the cooler "heatsinking' the heat away from the glass enveloped, via the thermally conductive copper-finned cooler material.

PEARL has converted (since October 2005) cooler manufacturing over to a new fin design, which provides over 60% more contact area with the tube's glass bulb/envelope. As such, the carbon fiber sleeve is no longer required for the cooler to work, as intended.    As we sell out of the older design (which include the sleeve) coolers, customers will receive new stock, without the carbon fiber sleeve.
